🏕️ Mountain Huts to Visit
Koča na Grohotu (1,460 m)
Beneath the northern face of Raduha, this charming hut sits in a wide alpine meadow, surrounded by wildflowers and grazing cows.
From Luče: ~30 min drive to the Bukovnik farm trailhead, then 1 hour hike (moderate).
Why visit: Easy access, peaceful pastures, and homemade mountain food. Perfect for families.
Raduha Summit: Include summiting Raduha to make this a 6 hour challenging hike.
Koča na Loki pod Raduho (1,534 m)
Set on the Loka pasture under the slopes of Raduha, this hut is a popular stop for hikers heading to the summit (2,062 m).
From Luče: 30 min drive to the Planina Dol trailhead 1hour hike.
Why visit: Stunning alpine views, great base for Raduha ascent.

Huts on Velika Planina (1,666 m)
A fairytale-like plateau scattered with traditional shepherd huts.
From Luče: 25 minute drive to Volovljek.
Why visit: Gentle walking trails, culture, and panoramic views. Ideal for a relaxed day trip.
Go Big: You could start a 8-10 hour hike from Velika Planina and summit Planjava (2,394 m).
Koča na Klemenči Jami (1,208 m)
Above the dramatic Logar Valley, this hut sits under sheer limestone cliffs — a true alpine gem.
From Luče: 25 min drive to Logarska Dolina; 1.5 hour hike up to the hut.
Why visit: Perfect for lunch stops or as a descent route after summiting Ojstrica (2,305 m) an 8-10 hour round trip.
Gozdarska Koča Podvežak (1,500 m)
A local favourite near Luče — quiet, scenic, and welcoming.
From Luče: 25 min drive to Podvežak trailhead; 1 hour walk.
Why visit: Great first-day hike or lunch stop. Meadows and forest paths with easy access. Or go on to explore Korošica and make a 5-7 hour loop.
Kocbekov Dom na Korošici (1,808 m)
High on the Korošica plateau, this hut sits in the shadow of Ojstrica (2,350 m) — the queen of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps.
From Luče: Drive 25 min to Podvežak, then 4–5 h hike via Planina Ravne.
Why visit: The perfect overnight hut for summit seekers. Bring layers — nights can be chilly at altitude.
🥾 Example 3-Day Hiking Itinerary from Luče
Day 1 – Warm-Up: Gozdarska Koča Podvežak
Distance: ~6 km return Elevation gain: 400 m Duration: 2–3 h
Start your adventure gently. From Luče, drive to the Podvežak trailhead and hike up to Gozdarska Koča Podvežak for lunch. Enjoy meadow views and a relaxing descent back to Luče for dinner.
Day 2 – Hike to Kocbekov Dom (Overnight)
Distance: ~9 km Elevation gain: 900 m Duration: 4–5 h
Return to the Podvežak trailhead and climb through forest and pasture to reach Kocbekov Dom na Korošici.
Settle in, enjoy a mountain meal, and watch the sunset over Ojstrica. Overnight in the hut (reservations recommended).
Day 3 – Summit Ojstrica & Return to Luče
Distance: ~10 km Elevation gain: 550 m Duration: 5–6 h
An early start gets you to Ojstrica’s summit by mid-morning — one of Slovenia’s finest viewpoints. After soaking it in, descend via your ascent route to Podvežak and drive back to Luče.

🏞️ Optional 4-Day Extension – Down to Klemenča Jama & Logar Valley
Day 3 – Ojstrica → Koča na Klemenči Jami
Distance: ~12 km Elevation gain/loss: +550 m / –1,200 m Duration: 6–7 h
Descend from Kocbekov Dom toward Klemenča Jama, a scenic alpine pasture above Logarska Dolina. Option to have lunch before continuing.
Day 4 – Klemenča Jama → Logarska Dolina → Luče
Distance: ~6 km Duration: 2–3 h
Descend through forest into the iconic Logarska Valley. Stop for coffee or cake at the base before returning to Luče.
